Soper Place Infrastructure
Client: Penrith City Council
Location: Penrith
Date Commenced: August 2020
Date Completed: December 2021
Penrith Council has transformed the Soper Place car park in the City Centre. This was an exciting, city-shaping project that has helped renew the city of Penrith and has had major benefits for residents, workers, visitors and local businesses.
Part of the existing street level car park at Soper Place (consisting of 120 car spaces) was developed. The new development provides 600 additional decked car parking spaces, new mixed use commercial premises and green space for the community for recreation and to help combat urban heat.
This project forms part of a larger city-shaping vision, which will see Penrith connected from the CBD through to the Nepean River by beautiful parks and places for people to live, work and enjoy.
To prepare for this development, Penrith City Council first needed to relocate underground services at Soper Place. These works were completed by Statewide Civil and included the following scope of works:
· Relocating and upgrading ageing storm water infrastructure
· Installation of box culverts including all required earthworks
· Relocating sewer and electrical cabling
· Changes to interim car parking access for Soper Place
Statewide Civil thoroughly enjoyed contributing to Penrith City Council’s vision for Soper Place and the surrounding community.
